Iraq withdraws from King’s Cup 2025 ahead of World Cup Qualifiers

According to The Asean Football, Iraq Football Association (IFA) announced the cancellation of their friendly match against Thailand in the King’s Cup 2025 tournament scheduled for September.

Iraq national team under Graham Arnold — decided to alter their preparation plans ahead of the fourth round of 2026 World Cup Qualifications.

IFA opted to conduct specialized training camps — a strategy deemed more effective in preparing Ali Jassim and his teammates for upcoming qualification challenges.

Previously, the match against Thailand was viewed as an ideal test — given their playing style similarities with Indonesian National Team, one of their qualification competitors.
