Iran defeats Kazakhstan, Indonesia advances to Asian U-16 Volleyball Championship quarters

Iran secured Indonesia’s passage to the quarter-finals of the 2025 Asian U-16 Volleyball Championship after defeating Kazakhstan in Nakhn Pathom, Thailand.

Seyyedamirreza Mirhosseinimashhadisaraei and Azhvan Namazi led Iran to a commanding 3-0 victory with set scores (25-11, 25-16, 25-21) against Kazakhstan.

Quick attacks from Mirhosseinimashhadisaraei gave Iran the early advantage in the first set — coach Arash Sadeghiany’s team then added three consecutive points before Kazakhstan scored their first point.

For Kazakhstan, Yernur Yermekov attempted to match Iran’s gameplay — but his movements were restricted by the opponent’s solid defense.

This result sees Iran advancing as Group B winners, while Indonesia, who previously defeated Hong Kong 3-0, qualifies as group runners-up.
