Iran completes lineup for 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup

The Iran women’s national team has secured the final ticket to the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup — defeating Jordan 2-1 in Group A qualification match.

Australia will host the tournament as automatic qualifiers, alongside China, South Korea, and Japan — the top three teams from the 2022 edition.

Uzbekistan returns to elite Asian women’s football after a 23-year absence, while North Korea will make their comeback after last playing in 2010. Bangladesh — ranked 128th globally — will make their tournament debut.

The tournament draw will take place in Sydney on July 29, with matches scheduled across Sydney, Perth, and the Gold Coast in March 2026.
