Inter Miami has officially transferred Robert Taylor to Austin FC for a reported $750,000 in general allocation money, announced on the final day of the MLS transfer window.

The 30-year-old forward from Finland, who joined from Norwegian side Brann nearly three years ago, made 91 appearances and scored 13 goals for the South Florida club.

Austin FC, currently second in the Western Conference with 16 points from nine matches, is the next stop for Taylor.

Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano commented on the move:

“This is a decision for the club and the organization. They see it as good business. You know how the transfer windows work in this league.”

Taylor’s teammate Fafa Picault also shared his thoughts:

“It’s tough seeing teammates go. I’ve known Robert for years. He’s a great guy and teammate, but we all know how this sport works.”

Meanwhile, Inter Miami is preparing for the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup semifinal against the Vancouver Whitecaps — a game Mascherano described as one of the most important in the club’s history.
