Inter Miami CF has officially transferred forward Robert Taylor to Austin FC for $750,000 in General Allocation Money, as confirmed by both clubs on MLS transfer deadline day.

Taylor Leaves After Three Seasons with Miami

The 30-year-old Finnish player, who joined Miami from Norwegian club Brann about three years ago, made 91 appearances and scored 13 goals during his time with the South Florida side.

Austin FC Strengthens Attack in Western Conference Push

Austin FC, currently second in the Western Conference with 16 points from 9 matches, has secured a strong addition to their squad in Taylor.

“It was a decision made by the organization. They believed it was good business for the club,” said coach Javier Mascherano during a press conference.

His former teammate Fafa Picault added,

“It’s always tough seeing a teammate leave. I’ve known Robert for years. He’s a great guy and teammate, but that’s football.”
