Inter Miami Falls Short of Champions Cup Final After Loss to Vancouver

Inter Miami failed to reach the Champions Cup final after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps at Chase Stadium, leaving the final aggregate score 5-1 in favor of Vancouver.

Lionel Messi and his teammates gave fans hope when Jordi Alba opened the scoring in the 9th minute after a clever assist from Luis Suarez. However, quick goals from Brian White and Pedro Vite in the second half dashed the home team’s comeback dreams.

Javier Mascherano, who has been managing the team since November, admitted that his side lost control after conceding:

“In a span of three to four minutes, they determined the result of the match. We wanted to play longer, without rushing, and with calm.”
