Inter Miami and Al Ahly share points in FIFA Club World Cup opener

At the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Inter Miami and Al Ahly played to a 0-0 draw in the FIFA Club World Cup opener before 60,927 spectators.

Goalkeeper Oscar Ustari emerged as the star performer — making eight crucial saves including a first-half penalty stop from Trézéguet. Ustari, who became the first-choice keeper just five months ago, displayed an outstanding performance to keep his team in the game.

Lionel Messi showed more vigor in the second half — nearly securing victory for Miami through a free kick and a header that struck the crossbar in injury time.

Al Ahly dominated the first half with several opportunities:

  • Emam Ashour’s clear chance in the eighth minute
  • Wessam Abou Ali’s disallowed goal for offside
  • Trézéguet’s failed penalty attempt

The stadium atmosphere was enhanced by thousands of supporters from both sides — with an equal mix of Al Ahly’s red and Inter Miami’s pink jerseys. FIFA could be satisfied with the attendance that nearly reached the stadium’s 65,000-seat capacity.
