Indonesia’s Volleyball Ranking Plummets After AVC Nations Cup 2025 Defeat

Indonesia’s men’s volleyball team has experienced a significant ranking decline in FIVB standings after completing their campaign at AVC Nations Cup 2025. Dio Zulfrikri and teammates had to accept a bitter reality — finishing in sixth place after suffering defeat in the fifth-place playoff match.

In the match held at Isa bin Rashid Hall, Manama, Bahrain, the Red and White team suffered a straight-set loss to Australia with a score of 0-3:

  • First set: 20-25
  • Second set: 21-25
  • Third set: 22-25

This defeat had major implications for Indonesia’s world ranking — resulting in a loss of 5.26 points and reducing their total points to 48.84. Indonesia’s ranking has now dropped to 63rd globally, far from their previous position at 55th with 59.29 points.

At the Asian level, the impact of this decline is also significant — the national team has slipped from the top 10 to 14th position.
