Indonesia’s long journey in 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Indonesia national team has just completed the third round of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers — a long journey that has gone through 18 matches to reach the fourth round of Asian zone.

The Garuda Squad’s journey began from the lowest point about one and a half years ago, facing Brunei Darussalam in two first-round matches. In the first leg at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Indonesia secured a convincing 6-0 victory with a hat-trick from Dimas Drajad, plus goals from Rizky Ridho and two goals from Ramadhan Sananta.

Shin Tae-yong‘s team showed their dominance again in the second leg by repeating the same 6-0 score in Bandar Seri Begawan. This perfect result took Indonesia to the second round — joining Group F alongside Iraq, Vietnam, and Philippines.
