Indonesian volleyball team rises in world rankings after SEA V League triumph

Indonesia’s men’s national volleyball team achieved a remarkable milestone — winning the 2025 SEA V League after defeating Thailand at the Jakarta International Velodrome on Sunday (20/7).

The Red and White squad turned the match around to secure a 3-2 victory with set scores (27-29, 25-15, 25-23, 22-25, 15-13). This achievement led Indonesia to the top of standings with seven victories from eight matches.

This success positively impacted FIVB rankings — Indonesia now holds 49th position globally with 78.41 points. In Asia, Jeff Jiang Jie’s team ranks ninth and leads Southeast Asia.

“For the SEA Games, our target is to win again. There’s still much work to be done regarding players, positions, and everything,” stated Jeff Jiang Jie.

The Indonesian men’s volleyball team has another important agenda — the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand this December. This event presents an opportunity to maintain dominance after securing gold in the last three editions.
