Indonesian volleyball team returns to U-21 World Championship after 36-year absence

The Indonesian U-21 men’s volleyball national team — will return to the world stage after a 36-year absence. The championship will take place in Jiangmen, China from August 21-31, 2025.

The tournament format divides 24 participating countries into four groups — with each group containing six teams. The top four teams from each group will advance to the round of 16.

Dawuda Alaihimas Salam and teammates will face tough challenges in Group D which includes:

• Italy
• Tunisia
• Ukraine
• Argentina
• France

Italy poses the main threat in this group — with a record of six finals appearances and their latest championship title in 2021.
