Indonesian volleyball team overcomes deficit to defeat Thailand in AVC Nations Cup

The Indonesia men’s volleyball team under coach Jeff Jiang Jie recorded an impressive comeback in their Group A opener at the 2025 AVC Nations Cup at Isa Sport City Hall, Manama, Bahrain.

Facing Thailand coached by Park Ki-won, the Indonesian squad initially fell behind by two sets — but managed to turn the tide for a 3-2 victory (22-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-8).

Farhan Halim and Hendra Kurniawan emerged as the stars of the match with 17 points each, while Doni Haryono and Rivan Nurmulki contributed 14 points apiece.

According to VolleyballWorld data, Indonesia outperformed Thailand in all aspects of the game — from attacks to blocking and serving despite early struggles in the first two sets.
