Indonesian volleyball team gets extra preparation time at AVC Nations Cup 2025

The Indonesian men’s volleyball team has received a special opportunity at the AVC Nations Cup 2025 — they are not scheduled to play on the tournament’s opening day at Isa Bin Rashid Volleyball Hall, Manama, Bahrain.

The squad under Jeff Jiang Jie will begin their journey on the second day facing Thailand in an ASEAN derby match. The three teams in Group A — Indonesia, Thailand, and host Bahrain — will compete fiercely for the top position.

The group’s opening match will pit Bahrain against Thailand — giving the Indonesian team a chance to observe the strengths of both their future opponents. This duel is predicted to be intense considering Thailand ranks 63rd in the world, while Bahrain sits just two spots below them.
