Indonesian Women’s Volleyball Team Faces Major Challenge at AVC Nations Cup

The Indonesian women’s volleyball team is set to compete at the AVC Nations Cup 2025 in Hanoi, Vietnam, but faces a tough hurdle following the absence of three vital players.

Two of the country’s top opposite hitters — Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi and Arsela Nuari Purnama — will miss the tournament. Arsela suffered an injury shortly after leading Jakarta Popsivo Polwan to the Proliga 2025 finals, while Aulia Suci Nurfadila is still undergoing recovery from a shoulder injury.

Replacement Players Called Up

In response to the roster shake-up, the coaching staff has called up two new players:

  • Ajeng Viona Adelea (Spiker)
  • Dinda Syifa Aulia (Middle Blocker)

This brings the total number of spikers in the squad to five: Mediol Stiovanny Yoku, Afifah Syahes, Putri Hidayanti Agustin, Ajeng Viona Adelea, and Ersandrina Devega Salsabilah.
