The Asian quota draft for Korean Volleyball League 2025/2026 held at Mayfield Hotel, Seoul — brought disappointing news for Indonesian volleyball players, reports Bolasport.com.

From 10 Indonesian athletes who registered — none managed to attract interest from 14 participating teams.

The success of Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi with Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks has not yet paved the way for other homeland players.

In women’s division, Yolla Yuliana — Indonesia’s prominent middle blocker — failed to pass selection for the second time. Meanwhile in men’s division, nine national players faced disappointment since the Asian quota system was introduced in 2023.

Here is the list of male players who failed in the draft:

  • Dio Zulfikri
  • Farhan Halim
  • Doni Haryono
  • Agil Anggara
  • Amin Kurnia Sandi Akbar
  • Fahri Septian Putratama
  • Nizar Julfikar
  • Luvi Febrian Nugraha
  • Rivan Nurmulki

Indonesian players lost competition to volleyball players with Korean League experience — where three out of seven men’s teams had already extended contracts with previous season’s players.
