Indonesian men’s volleyball team ready for SEA V League in Philippines

The Indonesian men’s volleyball team — having just completed their AVC Nations Cup 2025 campaign with a sixth-place finish — will continue their journey at the first leg of SEA V League in Philippines.

Assistant coach Erwin Rusni highlighted the team’s progress compared to previous year:

“Last year in Iran we ranked 11th because we fielded mostly junior players. Now we’re ranked 6th. Thankfully our ranking has improved. Now we’re ready to face SEA V League”

Jeff Jiang Jie‘s squad will start their campaign against Thailand on July 9 — a team they previously defeated 3-2 in the AVC Nations Cup 2025 group stage.

Besides Thailand, Indonesia will face:

  • Philippines (host)
  • Vietnam
  • Cambodia

The tournament running July 9-13 will be followed by second leg in Indonesia on July 16-20 — an important event for improving FIVB ranking after finishing as runners-up in first leg last year.
