Indonesian Men’s Volleyball Team Faces Thailand in AVC Nations Cup Opener

The Indonesian men’s national volleyball team will start their AVC Nations Cup 2025 campaign with a tough challenge — facing Thailand at Isa Bin Rashid, Isa Town, Bahrain.

Thailand has shown significant performance improvement over the past two years — they managed to defeat Rivan Nurmulki’s team in a five-set battle during the AVC Challenge Cup 2023 quarter-finals.

That defeat prevented Indonesia from advancing to the FIVB Challenger Cup, while Thailand became the first ASEAN representative to compete in the event. However, the Indonesian team managed to avenge that loss — defeating Thailand in straight sets during the classification round of the 2023 Asian Volleyball Championship.

Farhan Halim’s team is now preparing for the opening battle scheduled for June 18 in Bahrain.
