Indonesian Women’s Tennis Historic Double Victory at ITF Taizhou 2025

Jakarta – Indonesian women’s tennis made a strong statement on the international stage as Janice Tjen and Priska Madelyn Nugroho clinched two championship titles at the ITF W50 Taizhou 2025 in China, marking a historic weekend for the nation’s women’s tennis.

Janice Tjen captured the women’s singles title after a commanding performance against host favorite Yidi Yang, sealing the win in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3. Tjen’s path to the final showcased her consistency and resilience, with wins over Kira Pavlova (RUS), Jiangxue Han (CHN), Saki Imamura (JPN), and Eudice Chong (HKG).

In the women’s doubles, Tjen partnered with fellow Indonesian star Priska Nugroho to overpower Chinese duo Yujia Huang/Wushuang Zheng, closing the final match with a confident 6-3, 6-4. The pair maintained dominance throughout the tournament, defeating teams from Taiwan, South Korea, and Russia en route to the title.

These dual victories mark a milestone for Indonesia’s tennis resurgence, highlighting the rising stature of its female athletes on the ITF circuit.
