Indonesia women’s team faces tough resistance from Kyrgyzstan in Asian Cup qualifier

At the Sport Center Kelapa Dua, Indonesia women’s national team is yet to break the deadlock against Kyrgyzstan in their opening Group D match of the 2025 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualification.

Coach Satoru Mochizuki has maximized team strength by starting four naturalized players:

  • Iris de Rouw (goalkeeper)
  • Emily Nahon (defender)
  • Felicia de Zeeuw (midfielder)
  • Isa Warps (winger)

In the same group, Chinese Taipei secured a commanding 8-0 victory over Pakistan earlier today — intensifying group competition as only the group winner will advance to the final round.

Despite Indonesia ranking 95th in FIFA — significantly above Kyrgyzstan at 136th — Garuda Pertiwi is struggling to penetrate the opponent’s defense which has been holding firm since the start of the match.
