Indonesia U-23 Team Could Face South Korea in Asian Cup Qualifiers Group

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has officially confirmed the schedule for the U-23 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers draw, where the Indonesia U-23 national team may potentially face tough opponents such as South Korea, Japan, or even Malaysia in the group stage.

The draw ceremony will take place at AFC House, Kuala Lumpur, on Thursday, May 29 at 14:00 WIB. A total of 44 national teams will be split into 11 groups, competing for qualification to the final round.

Qualification Format and Schedule Revealed

Only 15 spots are available for teams to qualify for the U-23 Asian Cup 2026 final round, which is set to be held in Saudi Arabia in January 2026. As the host nation, Saudi Arabia automatically secures a place in the final tournament.

The qualification stage is scheduled to take place from September 1 to 9, 2025. Each team in the group stage will need to finish as group winners or among the top-ranked runners-up to book their ticket to the finals.
