Indonesia U-17 team faces South Korea in Asian Cup opening match

Indonesia U-17 national team will begin their journey in the 2025 AFC U-17 Asian Cup against South Korea — a team that has won this tournament twice.

This Group C opening match will take place tomorrow evening in Saudi Arabia, with South Korea being the toughest opponent compared to Yemen and Afghanistan in the group.

The Taegeuk Warriors have an impressive achievement history — winning championships in 1986 and 2002, while finishing as runners-up in 2008, 2014, and 2023. Their recent success is evident through Yang Min-hyeok, the best player from the previous edition who now plays for Tottenham Hotspur.

“We will not underestimate Indonesia,” said Koo Hyeon-bin, captain of the South Korea U-17 national team.
