According to the results of yesterday’s AFC U-17 Asian Cup match, the Indonesia U-17 National Team has made history by becoming the first Southeast Asian nation to secure qualification for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup through the Asian qualifying route.

Led by head coach Nova Arianto, the Young Garuda delivered an outstanding performance in their second Group C match, defeating Yemen 4-1 in dominant fashion at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, Jeddah.

This victory places Indonesia firmly at the top of Group C with a perfect 6 points from two matches — having previously defeated South Korea 2-1 in their opening fixture.

Although Indonesia still has one match remaining against Afghanistan, their position as group winners is already mathematically secured, thanks to head-to-head superiority over both South Korea and Yemen, who could potentially finish on equal points but would still trail on direct encounters.

This achievement not only ensures a spot in the quarter-finals of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2025, but also grants automatic qualification to the 2025 U-17 World Cup — marking a historic moment for Southeast Asian football.
