Indonesia to Face Iraq and Saudi Arabia in 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

According to the draw results in Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia National Team — placed in Pot 3 — has been drawn into Group B of the fourth round of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Asian Zone.

The Garuda Squad will face two formidable Asian teams — Iraq from Pot 2 and Saudi Arabia from Pot 1 — both familiar opponents in qualification tournaments.

The last encounter with Iraq occurred in the second round of qualifiers, where Indonesia shared a group with Vietnam and Philippines. In both matches against Iraq, the Red and White Team suffered defeats.

In the match at Basra about one and a half years ago, Indonesia endured a heavy 5-1 loss — Shayne Pattynama’s goal at the end of first half couldn’t change the final outcome of the match.
