Indonesia Ready to Host 2027 Sudirman Cup and 2028 Thomas-Uber Cup

Dito Ariotedjo, Indonesia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, has expressed the country’s readiness to host two prestigious badminton tournaments — the 2027 Sudirman Cup and 2028 Thomas-Uber Cup, according to Antara.

These tournaments represent elite team competitions in world badminton — Sudirman Cup for mixed teams and Thomas-Uber Cup for men’s and women’s sectors, both following a five-match format.

“We have certainly confirmed our interest and readiness (to host),” stated Dito Ariotedjo.

This announcement follows the visit of newly appointed BWF President Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul to Jakarta during the Indonesia Open 2025.
