Indonesia ready for Women’s U-21 Volleyball World Championship debut in Surabaya

Indonesia’s U-21 women’s volleyball team led by Junaida Santi is preparing for their historic debut at the 2025 U-21 Volleyball World Championship — a tournament scheduled for August 7-17 in Surabaya.

Team preparation has begun with a training camp at the Jenderal Polisi Kunator Volleyball Center in Sentul, Bogor — involving 25 players who have gathered since mid-May.

Indonesia is placed in Group A alongside:

  • Canada
  • Puerto Rico
  • Argentina
  • Vietnam
  • Serbia

Unlike the men’s team that competed in Athens in 1989, this marks the women’s team’s world-level debut — with China as the defending champion who also won the 2024 U-20 Asian Volleyball Championship.
