Indonesia Off to a Smooth Start at 2025 Asian Junior Badminton Championships

Solo, July 18, 2025 – Indonesia’s junior badminton team kicked off their 2025 Asian Junior Championships campaign in dominant fashion. In their opening Group B match against Myanmar at the GOR Indoor Manahan, Solo, Indonesia secured a convincing 110-47 victory.

The team match format uses a relay system consisting of 10 matches, with winning thresholds at multiples of 11 points such as 11, 22, and 33.

Team captain Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah opened the match in the first men’s singles and contributed the opening 11 points. Facing Nyan Shaine Lin, Ubed claimed an 11-2 win to put Indonesia in early control.

“Grateful for today’s win and for avoiding injury,” said Ubed after the match. He noted that strong wind inside the hall posed some challenges, but prior court testing had helped him adapt.

“The game was fine. We did two test sessions on court before. The wind was strong, so it had to be controlled. The opponent was decent too. I didn’t want to underestimate him, so I tried to press more to take points quickly,” he added.

This dominant performance gives Indonesia a strong foundation in Group B as they aim to secure a spot in the knockout stage.
