Indonesia is weighing its options in the mixed doubles category ahead of the 2025 Sudirman Cup, which will take place in Xiamen, China, from April 27 to May 4.

Mixed doubles coach Rionny Mainaky has conducted mental evaluations of players at the national training center in Cipayung, Jakarta, as part of the final preparation phase.

“During simulation, I checked their mental state to ensure they’re ready when facing Denmark,” said Mainaky.

Indonesia, placed in Group D alongside India, Denmark, and England, has several pairing options for mixed doubles:

  • Rehan/Gloria

  • Rinov/Fadia

  • Dejan/Fadia

“We trust them. Not trying Dejan/Gloria means opening opportunities for Rehan/Fadia. We’ll see, but the possibilities are Rehan/Gloria, Rinov/Fadia, Dejan/Fadia,” explained Mainaky.

Mental resilience will be the decisive factor in team selection, especially reflecting on past experiences — such as when Rinov/Gloria came close to upsetting Thailand two years ago.

The coaching staff remains focused on forming the most mentally-prepared pairings to ensure Indonesia’s best chance at progressing through the group stage and mounting a serious challenge for the title.
