Indonesia men’s volleyball team faces tough path in AVC Nations Cup after Bahrain defeat

Indonesia men’s national volleyball team suffered a heavy 0-3 (13-25, 25-27, 22-25) defeat against Bahrain in their final Group A match of AVC Nations Cup 2025 at Isa bin Rashid Hall, Manama.

Despite the loss, the Red and White squad advances to quarterfinals thanks to their previous victory over Thailand — however, their runner-up status forces them to face a more challenging path.

The situation becomes more difficult as Indonesia shares the same bracket with two formidable teams:

• Qatar — world rank 23 and highest-ranked in tournament
• Pakistan — previous year’s finalist

Suboptimal performance and team coordination that still needs improvement became key factors in Indonesia’s defeat — which now drops them to world rank 57 after disappointing results against Bahrain.
