Three Nations Express Readiness to Face Indonesia in September FIFA Matchday

According to Bolasport.com, the Indonesia national team is set to hold two international friendlies during the FIFA Matchday window in September 2025. Currently, three countries have expressed interest in becoming opponents: Lebanon, Kuwait, and Malaysia.

Coach Patrick Kluivert to Decide Final Opponents

Erick Thohir, Chairman of PSSI, confirmed that the final decision regarding which two teams to face will rest entirely with head coach Patrick Kluivert. Thohir emphasized that PSSI respects the coach’s tactical considerations when arranging international matches.

Matches to Be Played in Indonesia, Most Likely at SUGBK

Although not involved in selecting the opponents, Thohir assured the public that both matches will be held in Indonesia. The most probable venue for the friendlies is the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) in Jakarta, a familiar ground for the national team and its supporters.

This series of matches will be a key part of Indonesia’s preparation for future international tournaments and a valuable opportunity to build chemistry under the new coaching leadership.
