Indonesia Defeats China 1-0 in World Cup 2026 Qualification

The Indonesian national team secured a crucial 1-0 win over China in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers (Group C) held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta.

This result marked a significant milestone in Indonesia’s qualifying campaign, as they edged out a traditionally strong opponent.

Early Pressure from China, But Indonesia Strikes First

Despite China dominating possession in the early minutes, it was Indonesia who nearly broke the deadlock through Ricky Kambuaya, who fired a powerful long-range shot that missed narrowly to the left of the post.

China responded almost immediately. Wang Yudong unleashed a dangerous effort from inside the box, but his attempt flew just over Emil Audero’s crossbar.

Tensions escalated when Xu Haoyang received a yellow card after a reckless challenge on Kambuaya, halting Indonesia’s attacking momentum momentarily.
