Indonesia climbs FIFA rankings after victory over Bahrain

FIFA has released its latest rankings for March 2025 — Indonesia’s national team has secured the 123rd position after completing two matches in the 2026 World Cup Qualifications Asian Zone.

The squad under coach Shin Tae-yong began their campaign with a heavy 1-5 defeat when visiting Australia. However, the Garuda team bounced back with a narrow 1-0 victory while hosting Bahrain in Jakarta.

The positive result against Bahrain — led by captain Thom Haye — made a significant impact on Indonesia’s FIFA ranking, with an upward movement to 123rd position in the world for March 2025.
