Indonesian Badminton Team Departs for 2025 Sudirman Cup in China

The Indonesian badminton team, led by Jonatan Christie, has departed for Xiamen, China, to compete in the 2025 Sudirman Cup. The squad flew directly from Jakarta on Xiamen Airlines flight MF868.

The non-stop flight was chosen to conserve the team’s energy, as their first training session at Fenghuang Gymnasium is scheduled for the next day — just two days ahead of their opening match.

Eng Hian, Head of Development and Achievement at PBSI, highlighted the importance of this decision:

“A direct flight is the best option. It saves time and conserves the team’s energy. With a five-hour daytime flight, we arrive in Xiamen without being too exhausted at night.”

Eng Hian also confirmed that all players are in good condition and ready for the highly anticipated competition.
