Indonesia has successfully advanced to the Sudirman Cup 2025 quarterfinals after defeating India 4-1 at Fenghuang Gymnasium in Xiamen. Despite a challenging start, the Indonesian team demonstrated resilience to clinch the victory.

The Red and White team initially faced an early setback when the mixed doubles pair of Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja lost to India’s Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto in the opening match.

Putri Kusuma Wardani, Jonatan Christie, and Lanny/Fadia Lead the Charge

However, Indonesia quickly rebounded with three consecutive victories to level the score:

  • Putri Kusuma Wardani secured an impressive win in the women’s singles.

  • Jonatan Christie followed up with a dominant performance in men’s singles.

  • Lanny Tria Mayasari and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti delivered a vital win in women’s doubles.

A Nail-Biting Final Match Secures Indonesia’s Victory

In the final match, men’s doubles pair Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Daniel Marthin faced fierce resistance from the Indian duo Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabaphati, who had previously suffered a heavy defeat against Denmark’s top-seeded pair, Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen. Despite the challenges, Fikri and Marthin held their nerve and secured the decisive win for Indonesia.
