Indonesia Advances to Fourth Round of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Indonesia’s national football team has officially advanced to the fourth round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers following a crucial 1-0 win over China in their final Group C fixture.

Bahrain Eliminated as Indonesia Secures Third Place

Led by head coach, Patrick Kluivert, Indonesia collected a total of 12 points in the group stage — a number that Bahrain, sitting in fourth place with just six points, can no longer match. The result, combined with Australia’s win over Japan, ensures Indonesia finishes third in Group C.

Next Phase to Begin in October

The fourth round will feature national teams that finish third and fourth across all qualification groups. Matches are set to kick off during the October FIFA international window.

Teams Currently Qualified for the Fourth Round:

  • Group A: Qatar and United Arab Emirates

  • Group B: Iraq and one additional team

  • Group C: Indonesia

Indonesia’s campaign to qualify for the 2026 World Cup — to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada — continues into the next stage, where the competition is expected to intensify.
