Imam Tohari evaluates Gregoria’s performance after recovery period

According to PBSI release, Indonesia’s women’s singles coach Imam Tohari provided an in-depth evaluation of Gregoria Mariska Tunjung’s performance at Japan Open 2025 — the athlete who recently returned to competition after a three-month absence due to health issues.

The former coach of Kento Momota observed that Gregoria — who previously applied for BWF ranking protection during her recovery period — still needs time to regain her competitive rhythm.

“After this three-month absence, we can see that her playing style and game instincts are missing, she hasn’t found her proper playing rhythm yet,” stated Imam.

Indonesia’s top women’s singles shuttler will continue her journey at China Open 2025 next week — a BWF World Tour Super 1000 tournament with higher level of competition.
