Housing Minister Ready to Invest 100 Billion Rupiah in Persib Bandung

Maruarar Sirait, Indonesia’s Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, has expressed his readiness to invest 100 billion rupiah into Persib Bandung, one of the country’s most prominent football clubs.

This statement came directly after the match between Persib and Persis Solo at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium.

Potential IPO Attracts Major Backing

The idea of investment first surfaced during a presentation by Glenn Sugita, CEO of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB), where he shared the club’s current developments in terms of management and financial structure.

“We see that the club is now much healthier, both in management and business structure. This makes us feel that the step towards IPO is no longer a dream, but something that can be realized soon,”
Glenn Sugita, via Persib’s official site.

Following the statement, Glenn posed a question to the Minister:

“If Persib goes public in the future, would Mr. Ara be ready to invest?”

To which Maruarar Sirait confidently replied yes, signaling strong government confidence in Persib’s marketability and financial growth.

Political-Private Collaboration for Club’s Future

This announcement signals a deeper connection between public figures and Indonesian football, with Persib potentially leading the way as a professionally-managed club ready for public ownership through IPO. The possibility of high-level backing opens the door for larger investments, better infrastructure, and international-level standards.
