Honda RC213V Shows Potential at Jerez Despite Vibration Issues

The Honda RC213V showed positive signs at Jerez Circuit — a track whose characteristics helped mask some of the bike’s weaknesses. Joan Mir competed for sixth position before an incident, while Luca Marini managed to finish in the top 10.

Test rider Aleix Espargaro, appearing as a wildcard, identified Honda’s main issue:

“The engine isn’t the biggest problem. The main issue is vibration. While following Marc, I noticed Honda is good in hard braking, but in fast corners — it’s impossible to follow Ducati due to the vibration.”

Luca Marini remains optimistic about racing at Le Mans:

“Each weekend we manage to build speed gradually. Le Mans has many heavy braking zones that should suit our bike’s characteristics. The main target is to qualify for Q2.”

Espargaro also highlighted the need to improve the tire pressure warning system — a technical aspect he finds still too complicated for riders.
