Herry IP requests BAM to increase number of masseurs for Malaysian men’s doubles

Herry Iman Pierngadi, Malaysia’s men’s doubles coach, has submitted a request to BAM (Badminton Association of Malaysia) to increase the number of sport masseurs — a facility currently deemed insufficient for the national team.

According to Harian Metro, this need arises as Malaysia has four elite men’s doubles pairs — who frequently compete in the same tournaments with overlapping or widely spaced match schedules.

“For future planning, I think our request is to add more sport masseurs,” stated Herry IP.

This request comes after the Malaysian men’s doubles team’s recent success, where the pair of Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik secured titles in three prestigious tournaments — the 2025 Asian Championships, Thailand Open 2025 (Super 500), and Singapore Open 2025, while finishing as runners-up at the Malaysia Masters 2025.
