Harry Maguire has expressed a pessimistic view of Manchester United’s current situation — stating that even winning the Europa League won’t make up for the club’s disappointing season.

The Red Devils have endured a dismal 2024–2025 campaign, sitting 16th in the Premier League table with just 39 points from 37 matches, including 18 losses and a negative goal difference of -12.

Their domestic cup runs have also ended in frustration:

  • Knocked out of the FA Cup by Fulham in a penalty shootout
  • Lost 3-4 to Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup quarter-finals

Maguire admitted that the team’s performance this season fell far short of expectations and that a major overhaul is needed across the squad.
