Hanif Sjahbandi Supports 11 Foreign Players Rule

Hanif Sjahbandi, midfielder for Persija Jakarta, has expressed his support for the upcoming regulation allowing 11 foreign players in Liga 1 for the 2025/2026 season, as reported by Bolasport.com.

PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) recently announced a significant change in foreign player regulations — increasing the limit from eight players this season to 11 next season. Out of those, eight foreign players will be allowed on the pitch at the same time.

The new policy has sparked mixed reactions from football stakeholders across the country. However, PT LIB emphasized that the change aligns with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) regulations and aims to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian clubs in Asian tournaments.
