Hamilton wants to give his “DNA” to Ferrari’s 2026 car

According to Formula1.com, Lewis Hamilton is working to make a significant contribution to Ferrari’s 2026 car development — by incorporating his “DNA” of experience into the project.

During a challenging 2025 F1 season, Hamilton focuses on adapting to the SF-25 while preparing for the future. Several technical areas requiring special attention — power steering system and car stability in fast corners need specific adjustments.

Charles Leclerc, Hamilton’s teammate, has found an optimal way to control the car with a more oversteery setup. Ferrari’s deputy team principal Jerome d’Ambrosio explains:

“Charles has been working with a car that’s a bit more oversteery, and that approach has worked well. Recently, Lewis has moved in that direction and is making it work.”

Key technical aspects Hamilton focuses on for the 2026 car:

  • Smoother braking system
  • Better aerodynamic balance
  • Wider setup flexibility
  • Stability in fast corners

Ferrari team emphasizes that input from both drivers will be considered in the 2026 car development, focusing on maximum performance and better adaptability for different driving styles.
