Lewis Hamilton showed promising performance at the Bahrain GP by bringing his Ferrari to fifth place after starting from ninth on the grid — demonstrating positive adaptation to his new car.

His teammate Charles Leclerc secured fourth position after starting from the front row. Hamilton managed to overtake several drivers including Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen in his journey forward.

“As humans, we really get stuck in our ways. I have to use a very different driving style with this car, including engine braking which I’ve never used before,” Hamilton told Sky Sports F1.

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur commented on Hamilton’s adaptation:

“You won’t replace 12 years of collaboration in two weeks or two races. It’s positive that Lewis has this mindset to improve and adapt to the car.”

Ferrari executed a different strategy by using medium tires at the start — a decision that proved effective for both drivers in securing solid finishing positions.
