Lewis Hamilton Discusses Ferrari Transition and Italian Food Challenges

Lewis Hamilton has opened up about his experience transitioning to Ferrari, which has been met with both challenges and excitement. Despite a promising start with a victory at the Shanghai Sprint, his performance has been inconsistent since joining Ferrari, leading to speculation about his future in F1, even raising questions about a potential retirement from Ralf Schumacher.

Handling the Transition to Ferrari

After a decade-long career with Mercedes, Hamilton has faced difficulty adjusting to the dynamics at Ferrari. The new environment has brought its share of highs and lows, and although he has shown promise, the team’s performance in the current season has not been ideal. However, he remains committed to the process of adapting and learning with his new team.

Hamilton’s Met Gala Role and Thoughts on Fashion

Besides the racetrack, Hamilton will co-chair the Met Gala this year alongside fashion icon Anna Wintour. He admits that he hasn’t given much thought to his outfit for the prestigious event, focusing more on the honor of working with Anna Wintour and her team.

“It’s been a privilege,” he said, highlighting how amazing it has been to be part of such a unique event.

Struggles with Italian Food and Culture

Lewis Hamilton has made regular visits to Maranello, Italy, and while he has been adjusting to his new team, he has also been adapting to the local culture. His visits to Italy have been full of indulgences, particularly in food.

“I really am enjoying it,” Hamilton said. “I was there last week and had three pizzas in two days. I have my hookup — he keeps bringing me pizza.”

Still Learning Italian and Settling In

Hamilton is also adjusting to living in Monaco, but his frequent trips to Maranello have made an impact. He is actively learning Italian, though admits that there’s still a lot to catch up on. Moreover, he is getting used to the Ferrari simulator and continuing to integrate with his new team as he looks forward to better performance in future races.
