Gustavo Franca Scores Winning Goal as Persib Bandung Defeats Bali United in Liga 1 2024/2025

In yesterday’s Liga 1 match at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Gustavo Franca led Persib Bandung to a 2-1 victory over Bali United — bringing the team closer to this season’s title.

Irfan Jaya opened the scoring for Bali United in the 23rd minute — giving the visitors the lead until halftime. However, in the second half, Beckham Putra equalized in the 69th minute, before Gustavo Franca completed the comeback with a header from a corner kick in the 81st minute.

“This was a difficult match, we anticipated it beforehand. But we showed our tactics and demonstrated champion character in this game,” said Franca, who was named man of the match.

“It’s certainly a wonderful feeling to have the supporters’ backing. We work hard for this,” added the Brazilian defender.

This victory strengthens Persib’s position at the top of the standings with 61 points — eight points ahead of Dewa United in second place, while Persebaya Surabaya in third has collected 49 points with one game in hand.
