Head of Development and Achievement at PP PBSI, Eng Hian, has confirmed that Indonesia’s top women’s singles player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will miss the 2025 Sudirman Cup due to vertigo. The shuttler from Wonogiri has been advised to take full rest.

In her absence, Ester Nurumi Wardoyo has been called up to join the Indonesian squad for the mixed team tournament, set to take place next week at Fenghuang Gymnasium, Xiamen, China.

Indonesia has been drawn into Group D, alongside:

  • England
  • India
  • Denmark

Gregoria will not compete in the 2025 Sudirman Cup after being diagnosed with vertigo and requiring full rest,” said Eng Hian in PBSI’s official statement.
