Gregoria Mariska Reaches China Open 2025 Last 16

According to PBSI, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung advanced to the last 16 of the China Open 2025 after defeating Japanese player Kaoru Sugiyama in straight games, 23-21, 21-9.

The match, held at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Changzhou, lasted only 37 minutes, with the world number eight sealing her victory in dominant fashion.

Despite the win, the shuttler from Wonogiri admitted she was not fully satisfied with her performance — especially following a disappointing result at the Japan Open last week.

“My performance last week was far below what I expected,” said Gregoria.
