Gregoria Mariska Advances to China Open 2025 Quarterfinals

Gregoria Mariska TunjungIndonesia’s world No. 8 women’s singles shuttler — continued her strong run at the China Open 2025 by defeating Lin Hsiang Ti of Taiwan at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou.

The Wonogiri-born player secured a straight-game victory with a score of 21-13, 21-14 in just 33 minutes, booking her spot in the quarterfinals of the prestigious BWF Super 1000 tournament.

Despite trailing early in the first game due to net errors, Gregoria turned the tide after successfully challenging a line call — a pivotal moment that boosted her confidence. The match featured two tied scores, but sharp, aggressive plays allowed the Indonesian to pull ahead.

Her intelligent tactics in drawing Lin into tight net exchanges proved effective, as the world No. 22 from Taiwan struggled to counter. Although Gregoria briefly lost momentum following a failed net shot, she remained in control and closed out the match convincingly.
