Gregoria Mariska Advances to Asian Championships 2025 Round of 16

Gregoria Mariska Tunjung has advanced to the Round of 16 at the 2025 Asian Championships after defeating Taiwan’s Huang Yu-Hsun in straight games (21-12, 21-16) at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in China.

The world No. 5 women’s singles from Wonogiri, Indonesia, dominated the 42-minute match despite a shaky start. Though Yu-Shun displayed a good game, Gregoria swiftly regained her rhythm, unleashing a four-point streak to seize control of the game.

In the next round, she will face South Korea’s Kim Ga-eun, who secured a walkover after her scheduled opponent, Singapore’s Yeo Jia Min, withdrew from the tournament.
