Graham Arnold to lead Iraq against Indonesia in World Cup qualifiers

The Iraq national team is making serious preparations for the fourth round of 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian zone — the team nicknamed Lions of Mesopotamia has just appointed Graham Arnold as their new head coach.

The decision to appoint the Australian coach came after Iraq failed to qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup — they finished just one point behind Jordan in second place of group B in the third round of qualifications.

The 2007 Asian Cup champions are determined to return to the World Cup stage for the second time — Arnold’s team is now developing a comprehensive strategy to face opponents in the fourth round, including the Indonesian national team.
