Peter “Governor” No has surprisingly announced his move from the Valorant Pacific esports scene to compete in the North America scene.

On his personal account, the Korean-American player shared he has returned to his hometown and joined South Carolina’s Winthrop University. Their team is set to compete in the upcoming VCL NA: Stage 3, starting next week.

This decision is definitely a surprise, given Governor had previously announced his decision to step back from competition due to physical and mental health struggles. The 21-year-old pro left Talon Esports at the same time as his teammate Joseph “ban” Oh in February 2025.

While he won’t be playing at the top level, this is still a good revelation for fans who are hoping to see Governor back in Valorant. Though Talon had a disappointing season in the last VCT Pacific, Governor was often praised for his impressive mechanics and recognized by opponents as one of the game’s smartest players.
